Our Mission:

Off Center Harbor and its members have created a gathering place that connects, instructs and inspires the entire world of classic/wooden boats. We bring members into the workshops of the top masters in the field, aboard the finest boats, and to the best festivals. Our work provides inspiration and instruction for enthusiasts, students and professionals, and our goal is to help the world of classic and wooden boats to thrive and grow for generations to come.

Community Built:

Off Center Harbor has been a community-created endeavor from the outset. The moment we refused to accept money from advertising, we bet our future on the belief that boatbuilders and classic boat lovers had a hunger for learning the unvarnished truth from the most knowledgable people in the field. When we began, we hoped that the classic boating community would jump aboard to help us build and grow this endeavor. And you have, big time.

Our Accomplishments Together in the First 10 Years:

  • Created the Off Center Harbor website that has inspired and instructed thousands of people
  • Created the largest worldwide digital network of any organization within the field
  • Produced over 600 high quality videos, including five complete A-to-Z boatbuilding courses
  • Traveled to other lands that have a rich maritime history to record their boats, skills and cultures
  • Created the Worldwide Classic Boat Show to bring the entire world of classic boats together
  • Created plans and kits for two exceptional boats that are now being built in 6 countries

We’ve Only Just Begun:

As we celebrate these accomplishments on our 10th Anniversary, it feels like we’ve barely begun. We see so much more that we can do to build this hub for connecting the world of classic boats, helping it thrive, and most importantly making sure the skills, boats and enthusiasm are passed on to generations to come.
