Off Center Harbor's Remarks

A simple skiff like this is a work of art. Complete with oars, quality gunnel guard, and floor boards; she appears to be in very good condition. Usually boats of this style and quality stay in families for years so you better hurry for this one.

Description from Boat's Main Listing

I purchased this skiff in the fall of 2011 from an old Bass River (Cape Cod) family. It was probably built around 1950, but I have no documentation to prove it; that’s just my educated guess based on the style and construction. At the time I purchased it, it had probably been stored for about 20 years, untouched. I brought it home and restored it starting in the Fall of 2011, and relaunched it in the spring of 2012.

Restoration included:
Refastened in essential areas with stainless steel
New white oak rubrails
New mahogany seats
New white oak seat risers
New white oak runners on the bottom
Brand new Taylor-Made gunnel guard,
New bronze oarlock sockets and horns
Complete exterior and interior refinishing.

I also made a custom set of floorboards of vertical-grain fir. The bottom had been fiberglassed previously and is watertight. It’s been in the water 5 of the 8 years I’ve owned it, most recently in 2019. It has always been stored indoors in the off-season. It is registered in the state of Massachusetts and has had up to a 6hp outboard on it. Freshly painted this spring with Pettit Vivid red bottom paint, Epifanes dark blue topside paint, and Kirby’s light grey on the interior. Comes with a set of 5 ½ foot oars. I’m selling because I got another boat, and no longer have time or space to care for this one. Asking $800 or best reasonable offer.

The current pictures were taken on August 2, 2020.
