Off Center Harbor's Remarks

Joel White used to say it was harder to design a good-looking small boat than it is a big one. That’s why we think this Gartside sloop is so special. If kids grow up sailing a boat like this, won’t they be developing an eye for good design that will last for a lifetime?

Description from Boat's Main Listing

From the builder/seller:

I built SWANSONG in 2005 for a customer in Oregon on the West Coast. She is a fast, exciting boat to sail with ample room to get the family out on the water. Construction is entirely traditional with western red cedar planking on bent oak frames, copper fastened. Decks are double thickness cedar sheathed with fiberglass and epoxy. The centreboard is a galvanized steel plate. The rig is a simple standing lug of generous area quick and simple to set up and takedown.

SWANSONG currently lives in Indiana. She has been well cared for since she was built and is in excellent condition. She comes with an EZ Loader road trailer and is well-priced for anyone seeking a good wooden boat of lively performance.
