Off Center Harbor's Remarks
These days there a lot of Haven Class sloops available on the used boat market, but this one is unusual because it is traditionally-planked with red cedar - and because it is virtually brand new!

This boat is currently only listed with Off Center Harbor
Designed by Joel White as an adaptation of the Herreshoff 12 ½, this Haven 12 ½ was completed in late 2019. It is carvel planked vertical grain western red cedar on steam bent white oak frames and fastened with silicon bronze. The transom, coaming, seats, shear strake and trim are mahogany while the bulkheads, deck and lazaret are cedar. The cockpit floorboards are vertical grain red fir. All hardware is handmade reproductions of Herreshoff design and crafted from silicon bronze by J.M. Reineck & Sons, Ballentine Boat Shop and Bristol Bronze. This traditional gaff rigged boat has a hollow mast made from clear vertical grain red fir and all other spars made of solid sitka spruce. Other than it’s launching late last fall, the boat is new, complete and ready to sail and sits on a new customized EZ-Loader trailer. Additional pictures and information are available upon request.
