The Doughdish is a fiberglass reproduction of the Herreshoff 12 1/2 footer, and because she is built to the exact hull dimensions and rig of the original sloops designed by N. G. Herreshoff in 1914, she is able to compete against the wooden boats in class races and regattas. Like all Doughdishes, WHISPER is constructed of foam sandwich fiberglass with teak trim. She is a comfortable and easy daysailer and a wonderful boat in which to teach sailing.
WHISPER was built by Edey and Duff in 2002. Stored indoors in Stonington, CT., WHISPER has been lovingly maintained both professionally and by her owner. WHISPER comes fully equipped including brand new (unused) M & H Bartles mainsail and jib, an additional set of Sperry sails still in great shape, an unused spinnaker, a recent Sperry cockpit cover, and numerous accessories. She only lacks a spinnaker pole. Includes a custom Triad trailer. WHISPER is being sold because we have purchased a larger boat and won’t be able to use her.
