Off Center Harbor's Remarks

ANNIE has been one of Center Harbor’s Crown Jewels ever since she was launched in 2006. Built by Brion Rieff, one of Brooklin’s finest boatbuilders, she is stunningly pure. She is Nathanael Herreshoff’s Sadie design, a slight refinement of his legendary ALERION that served as that designer’s personal yacht for many years during retirement. If you want a classic day sailer (and who doesn’t?) and you have the scratch, this boat will change your life in magical ways.

Description from Boat's Main Listing

Refined by Nat Herreshoff in 1914, the SADIE design is an evolution of his personal sloop ALERION that incorporated slightly more ballast, 4” more beam and additional rake to the stem. These minor changes made SADIE stiffer, better balanced and dryer when beating into a choppy sea.

ANNIE (built in 2006 by Brion Rieff Boat Builder) has all the characteristics and head-turning good looks of the original SADIE while incorporating inboard power and a Marconi mainsail with lazyjacks with a roller-furling / self-tacking jib for ease of handling and for quickly getting underway and putting to rest.
