Off Center Harbor's Remarks

Not everyone likes the looks of these Newfoundland Dories, but this one is special, having been built by Shew and Burnham, one of Maine’s most highly regarded boatbuilding duos, and she appears to be in excellent condition. A “Go Anywhere” vessel if there ever was one.

Description from Boat's Main Listing

Thanks to a generous donor, we have the opportunity to sell this lovely boat, MISS B, in support of our lands and programs!

MISS B is a 2001 28′ St. Pierre Dory—a true cruiser for a discriminating buyer.

Professionally built by the acclaimed team of Dick Shew and Cecil Burnham. Need we say more?

MISS B was slightly modified from the EMME which was featured in WoodenBoat #35, pages 41-43. She is 20′ on the waterline, 28′ LOA, with a 9′2″ beam and 2′ draft. She goes like an eel at six knots, turning 2600 rpm. Will go faster, but why?

Powered by a 3-cylinder (27-hp) Yanmar diesel, and is equipped with a Simpson-Lawrence electric windlass, Furuno RADAR, SiTex chart plotter, auto-pilot, VHF, depth-sounder, compass, Vickers hydraulic steering connected to a vertical rudder. Hull is of ¾″ lapstrake northern white cedar planking on 1 ¾″ oak frames with 2″ black locust floor timbers. Bottom is two layers of Port Orford cedar: 7/8″inner and 1½″ outer. Skeg is of black locust as is the coaming. Cockpit and sole are cedar. Anchor, rode, fenders, cushions and dock lines included.

Always stored indoors and in excellent condition.

Replacement cost over $100,000. Offered at $25,500.00
