Off Center Harbor's Remarks

When looking for boats to recommend— using the formula that love equals proper care—we look for models that have received close attention and continued investment over the years. This handsome Rhodes-designed, Danish-built sloop seems to fall into that sweet spot.

Description from Boat's Main Listing

HYPATIA is a 1961 Chesapeake-32 sloop designed by Phillip Rhodes and built by Danboat in Denmark from fiberglass. She has been lovingly kept up by her current owners with many upgrades in recent years including a new dodger and new sails. HYPATIA comes with a history of ownership and work records including a new foam core deck replacement.

The classic lines, stunning profile, and grace under sail make her a head-turner in every harbor. It is the perfect daysailer or coastal cruiser. We have had many great New England cruises on this boat, including Maine. HYPATIA was recently featured in the April edition of Cruising World magazine.

This boat comes with a fitted canvas cover for either rig-in or rig-out winter storage. Bottom has been painted every year with Sea Hawk CuKote, and the rig was pulled and inspected in 2018.
