Off Center Harbor's Remarks

(Was $29,900) When the word “salty” is applied to boats, it can mean “decrepit”. But that word certainly doesn’t apply to this snug little William Hand double-ended schooner. First of all, she was built relatively recently. Secondly, she was built by Paul Rollins out of first rate materials—yellow pine planking and copper rivets. Her owner has kept a close eye on her year-to-year condition, and finally, she has recently gone through a considerable refurbishment that has brought her old-time good looks back to the front. Paul Rollins cut his teeth with legendary boat builder Bud McIntosh. Bud had a singular aesthetic (workboat-yachts gets close to what we mean here) in the boats he built, and he heartily approved of the job Rollins did on SIMPLICITY.

SELLER MOTIVATED – FINANCING AVAILABLE

SIMPLICITY was built by Paul E. Rollins in 1982 to a William Hand design and featured in Roger Taylor’s “Thirty Classic Boat Designs”.

The very definition of “Salty”, she has sailed from Maine to the Grenadine Islands twice, and successfully operated as a 6 pax. charter boat out of Rockland, ME.

SIMPLICITY is in excellent condition due to her relatively recent construction, and the current owner renewed all of the paint and varnish on the hull and deck this spring. She has new sails and rigging and is ready to launch.
