Off Center Harbor's Remarks

Here in Brooklin, ALISANDE has always been one of our favorite boats. Simple and beautifully proportioned, she was originally commissioned by an experienced sailor with a deep understanding of what Joel White could produce on his drafting board. Maynard and I went on her maiden sail when she was launched and we still treasure the experience.

Description from Boat's Main Listing

(Was $79,900) ALISANDE was designed by Joel White and built by Brooklin Boatyard in 1981, based on the William Hand designed FUNDULUS as described in Roger Taylor’s “Good Boats”

A small yet capable ocean or coastal cruiser, a sistership was sailed to Pacific Islands and back by her owner with his wife and 2 small children.

Exceptionally well balanced, ALISANDE will sail herself on any point of sail in anything over five knots of wind – rendering her Autohelm 4000 superfluous in all but a flat calm. All sails have been replaced in the past 8 years, and the Yanmar 3YGM was newly installed in 2019.

ALISANDE is a salty, well-built, comfortable cruising boat – relatively easy to maintain and promising her next owner many years of reliable service.

Please email for copies of several articles written about the boat, as well as a recent survey that attests to her excellent condition.
