Fresh from a recent (2002-2004) major rebuild, this schooner’s hull is planked with white pine over steam-bent red oak frames fastened with copper rivets, Structural members are held together with bronze bolts. The deck is half-inch Douglas-fir plywood sheathed with fiberglass cloth and epoxy. She has a 43 hp Volvo Penta 2003T (MS2B) diesel engine with an enclosed cooling system, all in immaculate condition.

Dacron RB Stevens sails include: gaff mainsail with topsail, gaff foresail with a fisherman staysail, jumbo jib and a second jib tacked to the bowsprit with roller furling system. Dacron sail covers included.

Navigation system includes: Furuno Radar (model 1621), Signet Digital Knot Log, Signet Digital Depth Sounder and a six-inch Danforth Constellation Compass.

MARY DAVID is a seakindly and roomy vessel that has made passages throughout the Maritimes and New England. She has had many upgrades, including electrical, masts and rigging. Throughout the years, this much-loved Nova Scotian schooner has participated in many races with the Nova Scotia Schooner Association. In 2018 she was the winner of the Brantford Cup and the Bluenose II trophies, as well as awards for second-place finishes in the Premier’s Cup, Herald & Mail and Old Gaffer’s Races.
