(Was $42,800) Tidal Wave is about as unique and historical a boat as you’re likely to find on the used market. Not only is she very cool looking, she is quite a slippery sailor. From the pictures in the listing she appears to need cosmetic work to bring her back to Bristol condition, but if you pace yourself with the work, you can have a lot of fun sailing this marvelous boat while you’re bringing her up to the standard you desire. In many cases, this is the charm of older wooden boats. Owners get to express themselves in the boats they love.

TIDAL WAVE is one of Phillip Rhodes early success stories. She was built by the Minneford Yacht Yard in 1930 as a cruiser racer. She was extremely successful racing in the early 30s and there are many articles about her in the yachting press of that era.
In 2000/2001 Tidal Wave underwent a substantial rebuild that included new frames and floor timbers, new plank keel, planking, stems, fastenings, deck, diesel engine, and other improvements. This work was completed at Rockport Marine to extremely high standards, all while not disturbing the original interior.
