Email This Page to a FriendPreview: Young Maine Couple Give Up City Life to Begin Farming
May 29, 2015
If you've spent some time in Maine in recent years, you may have noticed the growing number of younger folks working the farmers markets. As a recent article in the Bangor Daily News points out, the number of Maine farmers age 34 and younger grew nearly 40 percent between 2007 and 2012.
I'll bet many OCH members can appreciate seeing a new generation picking up such a trade and carrying on the tradition of small-scale, local farming.
Plus this lovely couple happen to be some dear friends of mine. Enjoy.
