It’s the beginning of March and spring is on its way! The view from the design office at the Brooklin Boat Yard is inspiring. In response to a question the other day about what I had going on this winter , it dawned on me that I am lucky to be involved with the construction of five new boats. I have brought you here today to look over their plans. Between now and when they’re lunched this summer I will be blogging on each project—as interesting techniques and details come up. With any luck, I’ll get you out for a (video) ride during their trials.

How did these little yawl boats work out?
Raymond Hurley says:
Eric, yawlboat design looks interesting. Will the boat(s) hit the water this summer? If so, hope to see it when I’m up in Brooklin this summer.
Eric Blake says:
We are in agreement that work will not stop until they hit the water. Let us hope it is indeed this summer. It has become a one night a week thing for the winter. I highly recommend it it, as we all have something to look forward to this summer. Thanks for your comment and hope to see you out on the reach.
Eric Blake says:
Thanks, I am loving the idea of sailing in company with two others. Planking this weekend.

Looks like it will be a fun boat. Looking forward for more details on the construction.
Lorentz Ottzen says:
Eric, those little yawls you and your friends are building are captivating. I am looking forward to seeing your progress.
