Good Work. Good Place. Good people.

The Bigger Picture is a leading website for boating enthusiasts, located on the beautiful coast of Maine in Brooklin. We are always on the lookout for well-rounded, energetic people with talents that span some combination of filmmaking, editing, tech-savvy-ness, internet marketing, customer support, boat building, seamanship and outdoor adventures. Perhaps we should emphasize: "tech-savvy-ness" because everything we do deals with quickly navigating an array of leading-edge technologies (no coding or programming though).

Ours is a casual environment, with a crew that spans six decades from the 20's to the 80's. Advice in both tech and life matters flow back and forth between all those generations each day around the coffee table. It's a nice place to be, and we all feel grateful to be here working with people we like and respect.

You can get a good idea about who we are, and what we offer our customers (members), by reading the "about us" page and watching the video on our home page.

Customer Service & Technology Manager

This person plays a very important role and works with everyone in the organization — at the intersection between the crew, our members, and the web platform. The primary responsibility is handling the web-based questions and problems received from the site's members (the "support" role for customers), plus some office administration (the "support" role for the organization). The work requires tech-savviness with a complex integration of apps such as WordPress, email marketing, payment processors, Google Analytics, etc.

Extra projects include testing new apps and plugins, planning boat show travel, and making sure our systems and the lists of all of our members are neatly organized and flowing smoothly. Very strong verbal and written communication skills, and organizational skills, as well as self-motivation are needed. No programming is required but knowing a bit of HTML/CSS is a plus. The position is full time with competitive salary and benefits for this region and field. We prefer the work to take place in our office in Brooklin, but would consider the Port Townsend area, or another creative work situation for the perfect person.
