“Day 5” ?!….something to strive for! We were just past “Year 2” on our Penobscot :) Great tips and I like looking at the builder’s setup around the shop, going to upgrade my sawhorses with that vertical extension.

This is an excellent series of videos, but Geoff’s first sentence in this episode introduces a discouraging element: “…end of day five.” It would take me five WEEKS to get to this stage in a 19′ glued-lap hull. At best. I can accept a 2x or even 3x efficiency differential between a pro’s skills and my amateur bumbling, but Jeez. Give us a break, Geoff. Waste some time hunting for your pencil. Strip a screw head. Shave off too much garboard with that planer and lose a day grafting in a shim. A little humane encouragement, please!
