I love this 2-part film about OCH artist James Dodds. It provides meaningful insight on James’ character and vision as an artist. Thanks to ClassicYacht.tv for these gems.
The camera work is beautifullydone, and I enjoyed learning about the reverence Dodds has for his subject matter – English work boats, in the case of the film. James brings a boatbuilder’s sensibilities to his paintings, and he cares deeply about documenting and preserving the beauty of these vessels whose shapes evolved over thousands of years — and are all-to-quickly disappearing.
