I am overwhelmed. I was the former captain of the schooner America and I am extremely impressed with Kit’s ability to maintain and keep everything Bristol fashion. She is absolutely marvelous both, both Kit and the boat. How I long to someday meet her. Just remember it is the Stout hearts that make the ships safe — a quotation of Joseph Conrad. And Somerset Maugham said: “Going to sea is like going to jail with the added possibility of drowning.”.

Now that’s impressive! In every way. Beautiful boat. So good that she’s being treated with the love and care she deserves. And as for Kit, I’d sail anywhere with her. I’m convinced that she could cope with any eventuality that fate threw at her. Good on you Kit and thanks, OCH. Wayne McCallum

This video and Captain are so outstanding I had chills on my arms when the Captain talked about her grandchildren going up the ladder out of the “crew’s” quarters. Thank you for providing such wonderful insights into boats of all types and the talented people who own the vessels!

What a wonderful lady who is taking great care of a wonderful boat! I met her a few years back in Port Townsend and got a tour! I took part in the original restoration when it looked like the photos at the beginning of the video. One hell of a lot of work I’ll say.
One thing to say about the stanchions, they are hand forged by the late Russell Jacqua in Port Townsend. There are a lot of originals still on the boat that were originally forged so the owners decided to go ahead a have the rest forged to match.
Those big knees are grown! the grain follows there shape! There were many layers of paint to strip off to find that discovery.
Thanks for the great video! Brought back wonderful memories.

My only wish is that the videos were longer. I did not want to leave TEAL or any of the other vessels being featured. What a delight! Keep up the great work!
What an inspiration for women on the water. Great Captain/owner.

Wow what a beautiful Trawler. Captian you did a fantastic job restoring Her. One might have thought you were a cabinetmaker for Fedship yacht builders in Findland. FANTASTIC!

So impressive, the Teal and this woman. Its easy to tell when a person has learnt and knows their stuff. No B/s, humble and totally at home. A beautiful boat in good hands.

What a gorgeous example of the boat builder’s craft. Clearly she is now in good hands and should be around for decades. Thanks for a wonderful tour of a sweet boat, videoed very well as I’ve come to expect from OCH. I hope to see her when we do our inner passage cruise next year. (commercial tour boat unfortunately).

What an outstanding lady. I wish she lived next door. She continues to save that boat every day and gives credit to the people who helped her along her journey. She’s a special person indeed.
