The black and white still of a gaffer doesn’t appear to be the same boat; different house/lights and no boom gallows…Just there as an example of the ‘type’ of rig that might have been on her?

I have a 24′ version of Vito Dumas built at Riverbend Marina in Ft Lauderdale by Bill Healey. I was considering selling her; however, after seeing and digesting this video, I am going to seriously reconsider. My boat has many of the features of Vito Dumas and I can now see several others I hope to include. I love OCH. What better way to start my Independence Day but with Off Center Harbor. Thankyou

Every year at the PT Wooden Boat Festival, I commit the Deadly Sins of envy and lust after VITO DUMAS. After the possible exception of MARTHA (the 68′ BB Crowninshield schooner) she’s always the most beautiful boat in the show—and among the most beautifully maintained as well. Congrats and thanks to Alex Spear for being such a fine and responsible custodian.

Beautiful boat! Looks like a sweet sailing boat as well. I crewed on another of the Parodi Bros. boats in San Fernando, Argentina back in 1975- 76. The 50′ “Gaucho” which 2 books were written about, ” The Sea going Gaucho” and “50,000 miles on the Gaucho” ( I believe) There were also 2 more Parodi boats on the hard in the YCA yard. One was Vito’s own LEGH 2 (newly restored), and a smaller boat name “The Martin Pescadore”. The Gaucho is still being actively cruised today by the Overtons and is down in the Southern Caribbean.
Manual Campos and the Parodi Brothers might make a good story!
