Rather than continue to cruise the world in their super yacht, Christopher and Regina Catrambone decided to mount search and rescue operations for migrants in the Mediterranean. To do so, they spent $8 million dollars to retrofit their yacht and launched the Migrant Offshore Aid Station (MOAS). In the first 60 das of operation, they were able to rescue over 3,000 people. It is an inspiring story of private citizens doing what they can to save lives in an international crisis.
