Another thing to think about regarding the head sail (jib/genoa):
Is the placement of the jib sheet car to control the sheeting angle so that the head sail goes into or comes out of luffing along the luff of the sail at the same time e.g. the top, center and bottom of the luff are working together. Moving the car forward or aft will change how synchronized and well balanced the head sail is …

For a land locked sailor wanna be the hands on demo was very informative. Now I understand more about what an outhaul and a boom vang does, how it changes the sail shape, and what shape is desirable. For a beginner like me, that’s what I need.
