    What is the approximate finished weight of this skiff?

    I love the traditional rebar caulking irons! I assume soften it up with a torch, then swage it out with a small sledge on some kind of anvil? Then upset the head to flare it out for striking? Actually, probably need to do that step first before flattening out the blade.

    Eric, for what it is worth, I was taught to thin the paint that is to be painted on the cotton caulking a bit, to help it penetrate and seal the cotton.
