Can’t buy it? Why not make it? Take a few pulleys and V-belts, some shafts and bearings; add a right-angle drive and an old washing machine motor or electric drill; mix in some plywood scraps and a big dose of ingenuity and the result may surprise you. “Just give it a go,” as our Tasmanian boatbuilder friend, David Golding, advises after he designed and built this pair of spinning mechanisms that manufacture and spool up cotton caulking.

Couldn’t say it better than @William McCaffrey already did. I long to have a shed filled with bits and pieces of things that I can turn into something productive. Currently my garage doesn’t meet the need! A great video to start off my Friday morning!

You just have to love the ingenuity.

“To invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk.”
    ― Thomas A. Edison
“I don’t think necessity is the mother of invention. Invention . . . arises directly from idleness, possibly also from laziness. To save oneself trouble.”
