Rigging is a huge art, a hopelessly complex and profound endeavor, encompassing everything from calculus to aesthetic niceties to extremely risky behavior with large, heavy objects. Clearly, I could not have achieed survival, let alone gained some level of competence, without tremendous help from others. I could talk about my rigging teachers and inspirations such as – Clifford Ashley, Jack Dickerhoff, Spike Africa, Nick Benton, Harry Donovan, and others – but upon reflection, I think that my biggest influence as a professional has been The Client From Hell.
