Preview: The “Radical” Skeg

Eric Blake and Steve Stone stopped by Friday afternoon to check out a 30′ oak keel we’re getting ready to install. I’ll post a blog about that soon, but check this out…

As they were walking out, watch Eric get stopped dead in his tracks by the skeg on the 42′ cutter we’re building…

(Video shot with the iPhone)

If you’re wondering about the boat that the skeg is attached to, it’s a 42′ cutter that I designed for a client of ours.

Here’s a profile drawing and specs.

And here’s a link to a blog by Maynard Bray that shows us building the interior of the cutter upside down.

Very impressive! Would have enjoyed seeing how Brion laid this up!
