The time we spend on our boats often provides a quiet, relaxing meditation away from the frantic pace. And yet, we haven’t been showing that side of the boating experience very well in our videos.
So this summer, we’re tapping into all this collective desire to slow down and simplify, and we’re working that into our creative process, with a few short videos that we hope will provide a few moments of quiet meditation.
There are few things better than sitting on a beach watching a pretty boat spin on her anchor, and there aren’t too many boats with more gorgeous shapes and curves than a Caledonia Yawl.

Steve, an absolute bulls-eye. Wonderful video, and not a stink pot or PWC in sight to mar the peace and quiet. After enjoying your video, I wonder if Ponce de Leon’s Fountain of Youth in St. Augustine, FL really works. If it does, I’ll get my ancient bones down there and bathe,; become younger again; so that I am capable of sailing on your lovely waters. A lovely boat; a beautiful day, the gentle murmur of water on the clinker hull; and a great sailing area; now that’s my old sailor’s idea of heaven. I’ll ask my old friend Poseidon if he can arrange that for me.

I know this hasn’t much to do with the video, but I’m trying to understand why replace the original mast Jeff build out of sitka spruce. I believe Jeff said the spruce mast only weighted 17 lbs. and the lumber is awfully expensive. I’m only asking because I finished building my mast out of douglas fir two months ago. Thanks.

Yes the dog days of summer are upon us here in Florida. The weeks of vacation are behind us and motivation to do anything outside is difficult. But excited at the prospect of being beyond frame building and looking forward to glueing a transom together .
