I love these. A bit off the usual OCH focus — lovely boat videos — but spot on for one of the main reasons I love being a boat(s) owner. Water, weather, wind and that specific moment — in this case, a collection of August moments — that reminds you of the beauty, elegance, and pleasures of this planet. Don’t ever stop.

Slow August, the summertime prescription for good health and sweet winter dreams, the schmee of time well spent. Here in the Pacific Northwest it can also be “Slow Fogust,” with the deep echoing horns of big ships talking to each other in the Strait. You guys are really on to something.

Another great video but Slow August Part I remains my fav….. or maybe second fav behind “The Schmee of a Successful Man”. Yesterday I conducted my harbor “inspection” at ghosting speed in a 12 knot breeze under a deep reefed main and a yankee jib. Other boaters must have thought I had some inside information on impending heavy weather.
