When my brother and I set out on our own Inside Passage adventure, the stories of historic paddlers like Betty Lowman Carey in BIJABOJI looed large. Beautiful story. I’m so glad that I signed on
to OCH and have access to inspiring videos.
I love the quote from Nate Dappen’s father
filmed aboard the ferry… “not everyone can do the
hardest route… important to follow that voice”… etc.
You guys, and gals, are doing great work with this website.
A million thanks and keep it up.

This story caused first the pain of missing my Dad and then the smile of remembering all we did all he taught me. He was a true Downeaster. He and his grandfather used to fish lobster in a dory. Miss him.

4 years ago I did a similar passage with 3 friends on the Alaska ferry Columbia. Bellingham, WA to Juneau with all the comforts of a cabin and an on board restaurant. Watching the scenery go by I thought what a great trip this would be in a canoe. Thank you, Bob

Truly an epic journey spanning generations! Thank you.
The IDEA of the the generational journey can be shared by something as simple as a mushroom hunt in the wild, or a paddle together on a quiet, memorable weekend. The whole purpose is to create a shared sweet memory; or perhaps even a personal-world-changing event.
