Nice tip on the extended straight edge. For folks with smaller shops there are affordable compact table saws and planers, we bought the rolling stand with our DeWalt table saw and built a cart for our 12 inch planer so we can reconfigure our garage or “Carriage House” as desired. When not in use, they tuck out of the way so we can store more of Skipper’s boats :)

Great video, very helpful. As you say Kit, many home boat builder shops, including mine, do not have a joiner. I liked your suggestions for making battens and straightening boards, including the 3/4” ply extended fence on the table saw which in my case is a job site/contractor saw.

great teaching method, luckily I have a jointer, planer and large table saw, now I’ll build the extension piece for the table saw, good Idea to glass it for strength, thanks Kit

Have neither a joiner nor a thickness planer but the idea of the extended straight edge, fiberglassed is a good one and certainly worth doing. Like the way she explains what she is doing and why.

Perfect! So helpful, and just in time for my ladder frame setup. Appreciate the batten tip too. Might as well get ‘er done while you have the fence set up, especially since I have to go set up outside of the garage for long passes through the table saw and planer.
