With regard to the primer – should we paint the interior floor of the boat epoxy (west system) before we prime or is that overkill?

Any help here would be very much appreciated!

    Thank you in advance.

Yes, Maura. That’s a good idea because fresh water can sit on the inside after rains, etc.

Thanks, also watched the vid. on painting and that cleared up a lot. Lots completed, once we do this and a few other steps we’ll be ready to flip and flip again. May get ‘er in the water before the snow flies but she’ll be in our barn all winter ready for all the final touches in spring. Oh yaaaa – and they said it couldn’t be done! HA!

I have enjoyed following this video. Nice work and it’s very obvious that Kit is an asset to the Hylan team. I’m wondering if the mast step video is the last . Thanks, Lannis

I would ad a acorn nut on the tiller where it attached to the rudder and handles under itnalmost the full lenght of the dinghy with bronze skids. Also I would use sapele for the mast step with a bronze shoe for the mast and a 1/4″ pin going through then shoe akd mast to secure it whenast. Is on it. I would also use one or two layer of carbon fiber on yhe bottom to exend the life of it and more bronze hardware in general. In the bow where the trailer roller hit the bow I would add a small copper plate , maybe 8″*8″ ajd 1/8″ thick so the roller does not ruin the plywood and the paint. Same where the outboard goes. I would add a shoe that frops down over the mounting area and cover both side, maybe 8″ wide * 6″ height 1/8 bronze plate so the clamps on the engine does not ruin the stern when you clamp it down. Cheers, Hans
