I was wondering how you envision a future refastening project dealing with the epoxied bungs?

Great work. Do you know what metal the original screws are?

Love the videos, and great information. I have always been told to wax the threads before driving the new screws to reduce the torque needed to drive them in, and also presumably ease them out when it’s time for that. I didn’t see you use any wax. Did I miss that, and what are your thoughts on the subject? Thanks.

And Eric, the big point for me and VALENCIA (1958 Olin Stephens) is your preliminary comment: Someone else has taken all the copper paint off before me. Tom Kiley, a year ago, was singing the praises of FIRE AND SCAPE as his preferred method of removal of bottom paint. (I’d observed a full chemical strip at Artisan Boat Works a few years ago and was not eager to get that going on my own). VALENCIA has too much old copper on her to consider sanding as the method at this point. What do you recommend. I’m considering refastening, but first things first. Doug Day
