You really captured the feel of the IJlsmeer and canals, Roger. Loved watching you and Mary navigate the various challenges–light winds, bridge timing, bugs. The Dutch are amazingly adept in the water and I love the beamy curvy short-rigged designs. I was sailing on a 44′ boat in the opposite direction a few weeks later. We entered Netherlands (started our trip in Stockholm) at Lauwersoog. You’ve brought back some wonderful memories of Friesland, Enkhuizen, Hoorn. <3 Bedankt! I can't wait to return and perhaps do so in a small open boat. You're inspiring.
