Ginny Wilson talks about her journey to becoming a shipwright after studying at the Northwest School of Wooden Boat Building. Ginny went on to work at the Port Townsend Shipwright’s Coop helping to restore the historic WESTERN FLYER and is now part of the Port Townsend Shipwright’s Collective.

The last PT Festival I went to was in 1979. It was one of the earliest of them. The Pac NW boat building scene had such a different vibe than that of the NE coast. Women were in evidence in the business then, much moreso than in NE. Fortunately that’s changed for the better here.
