This is the amazing story of Sharon Sites Adams. Shortly after learning how to sail in her mid-thirties, Sharon became the first woman to sail across the Pacific alone. First, she sailed single-handed from California to Hawaii in a 25′ folkboat, SEA SHARP in 1965. Four years later, she singlehanded from Japan to California in a Mariner 31, SEA SHARP II, and made landfall 45 minutes after eil Armstrong stepped on the moon in 1969.

Surprising that no one with means cared enough to keep the boat afloat, restored, etc. It seems it could/should have belonged in a museum.
