COASTAL QUEEN Restoration Project – Episode 23 – Full Steam Ahead


Follow along with Peter Slack’s ongoing series about the restoration of COASTAL QUEEN, a Chesapeake Bay Buy Boat built in 1928 and modified in the late 1950s to a cruising yacht. The series follows the process from the bottom up, as a new keel, keelson and cross planking are needed to support this massive structure.

November 7, 2023 – COASTAL QUEEN Restoration Project – Episode 23: Full Steam Ahead

Lots of moving parts inside and outside Coastal Queen. The finishers work on the railings while dodging giant water tanks loaded by crane. The last bit of r** is tended to, and the deck beams on the foredeck add the necessary structure tying in the carlins and the rest of the boat.
