I want to share with you just one thing that shows how different the Wooden Boat Festival is in Douarnenez, France…
After landing at the airport, as we got in the car, our French guide Charlotte said that our timing might be perfect to stop by the Douarnenez (Dwar’-nuh-nay) festival’s “volunteer lunch”.
In the days leading up to the festival, countles volunteers prepare the harbor for the event, and the festival hosts a lunch for these volunteers every day. As we drove from Brest to Douarnenez, I put my American imagination to work picturing a hurried situation where busy, focused, people swing by quickly to grab a brown-bag filled with ready-made-sandwiches.

Box of wine in the front right corner! Not that different!
Heather Linscott says:
LOVE The starlight interview!!
David Sinclair says:
Bon appétit!

And we wonder why they live so long!
