PLANS SET:
Building plans will be available soon for $149 USD!  You can CLICK HERE to make sure you’re on the list to get the first sets of plans when they become available. Shipping cost is $20 for U.S. addresses and $60 for international orders.

CNC-CUT KIT:
Kits of all the plywood pieces, pre-cut, will be available for purchase from Off Center Harbor this fall. This is a very uniquely designed kit — ALL wood pieces need to build the entire boat are plywood and included in the kit.  They’re also already beveled and shaped to fit neatly without a lot of woodwork. You can CLICK HERE to make sure you’re on the list to get first crack at kits when they become available. Plans sets are not included with the kit and must be purchased separately.

International Kit Purchases: The first kits will be available in the US, soon followed by a variety of locations around the world, including Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Europe and the UK.

Please note that the kits are only produced by Off Center Harbor’s licensed CNC-machining partners that have extensive experience cutting boat parts and kits. Having digital files sent to a typical CNC shop near you is not an option, as most do not have experience cutting the types of curves and bevels found in boats.

THE DESIGNER & THE BOAT’S INTENDED PURPOSE:
Harry Bryan is a real hero of ours, building practical & beautiful boats in an off-grid shop on the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick for decades. With their extreme tides, he often has to walk hundreds of yards to the water’s edge. Harry developed the original cedar wheelbarrow boat as an ingenious solution to get his dinghy and stuff all the way down there.

We are huge fans of the original boat, and thought “what if anyone could build this boat in their living room in a weekend?” So we had Harry redesign the boat as a plywood kit, and it came out even better than the original!

TIME/SKILL LEVEL REQUIRED & MATERIALS AVAILABLE:
Estimated time to build this boat is approximately 40 hours (two weekends-ish), and this boat can be built by anyone with very limited woodworking skills. Note: While it is possible to build this boat from the plans alone, it is designed to be built from the kit. This particular kit makes it much (MUCH!) easier and will save you substantial time (and perhaps money as well).

HOW-TO-BUILD VIDEO SERIES:
A 20-part video series that shows how this boat comes together will be available to all Off Center Harbor members. OCH members also have access to three other epoxy/plywood boatbuilding series, plus two more series on how to use epoxy, totaling about 80 OCH-produced videos. The Wheelbarrow Boat series was filmed in a living room over a couple of weekends. Episodes of the video series will be released this fall and winter (2026-2027).
