Tossing Out the Best Laid Plans

On my first and only single-handed sail from Thailand to Malaysia, I never expected to run aground, or blow out a sail, or narrowly miss a boatload f pirates. Was this just beginner’s bad luck x 3? I’ll never know. But I learned that the best laid plans are always going to change, and disaster only happens if you let the story end.
