Off Center Harbor's Remarks
This snug little cruiser was designed and built by one of the best: Bud MacIntosh. Cedar on oak with copper rivets assures longevity and ease of maintenance. A rare find.
Description from Boat's Main Listing
DOLPHIN is a 26′ x 8′ raised-deck keel sloop designed and built by D.C. (Bud) McIntosh in 1961. Good hull with cedar planking copper-riveted to kerfed oak frames; easy maintenance with no exterior varnish; 13hp low-hour Beta diesel. New interior sleeps two with full headroom under the companionway hatch and space for another berth or two up forward. Propane heating stove.
Double-headsail rig needs completion, but all pieces are included along with good sails (staysail by Nat Wilson has never been used).
I have moved on to another boat and have no plans for using DOLPHIN, so offer her as an easy-project boat having minor items to complete. Asking $9,500.
DOLPHIN has the same hull as Gordon Swift’s MADRIGAL but has a raised deck instead of a trunk cabin.
And she’s documented – official number is 512859.
