Off Center Harbor's Remarks
(Was $80,000) NORTHERN ROSE was built for a single gentleman and his dog to sail out of Center Harbor. She was designed by the late Joel White who, given his particular affection for double-ended cutters of Scandinavian heritage, drew her lines as a labor of love. Her hull was built by a talented amateur in Vermont. She was then shipped to Maine and completed at the Brooklin Boatyard. Within weeks of her launching her owner became ill. She is now up for sale: an essentially new boat at a used boat price. If a snug, sea-kindly cruiser with a deep pedigree fits your requirements, this is the boat for you.
Description from Boat's Main Listing
NORTHERN ROSE is a handy double-ended sloop designed by Joel White. The hull was built by James Pearson and construction was completed by Brooklin Boat Yard over the winter of 2014-2015.
NORTHERN ROSE was commissioned and launched in May of 2015 and was used seasonally (primarily as a day sailor) by her owner until the fall of 2017.
Since that time NORTHERN ROSE has been kept in storage and is now being reluctantly listed for sale as her owner is no longer able to get out sailing.
Offered for sale at a fraction of her cost to build and presenting as a near new boat NORTHERN ROSE is an excellent value and a real opportunity to own a classic Joel White designed / Brooklin Boat Yard built boat for day sailing and coastal cruising.
