SELLER STARTING TO BUILD HIS NEXT BOAT AND WANTS TO SEE MARSH HEN FIND A NEW HOME
The original Marsh Hen design by Brooklin Maine’s Doug Hylan was purposed for the client who wanted a classic-looking and quiet powerboat that could slip thru the Low Country of South Carolina and Georgia and allow him to pursue his passions of bird watching, fishing, and kayaking. Also on the design checklist was that, when not in stealth mode, the boat should be able to produce a good turn of speed without consuming much in the way of fuel. Finally, this boat should be both open to the world around her while at the same time have enough shelter for respite from the elements and a good berth for an occasional overnight. This design provides “all of the above” and maybe a bit more for the boater who’s learned that thoughtful simplicity has great merit, and that you don’t need every little thing to have more than enough.
This MARSH HEN was constructed by Richard (Dick) Pendergast and launched in the summer of 2020, so this is essentially a brand new boat. A mild-mannered accountant by day, Dick’s true calling is as a boatbuilder and should he ever give up his day job and turn pro he has a standing offer to come and work with us here at Brooklin Boat Yard such is the quality of his work.
