Off Center Harbor's Remarks
This Bill Garden trawler pretty much defines Dreamboat Harbor; a vessel ready to take us places; sturdy, handsome, at home in a seaway, and altogether comfortable when the anchor goes down. Too bad it’s on the other side of the country. Otherwise, we’d make it the OCH corporate ship.
Description from Boat's Main Listing
This timeless and classic Bill Garden designed trawler only gets better with age, she’s heavily built with countless upgrades that turns heads at every marina or anchorage she travels to. The single 108 hp Lugger will give you a top speed of 12 knots and a comfortable 8 knots cruise speed burning 2 gallons per hour. Pack your gear, and fill the fridge because the little ship is ready to go.
Entrance to this vessel can be made from the swim step thru the transom door and due to her low freeboard it’s just a short step up from a floating dock. Once aboard you will notice the enormous cockpit area. The 10′ Caribe tender is mounted on a heavily built custom davit that launches over the stern, an engine box all the way aft that provides easy access for maintenance this also keeps the noise away from the cabin area. Moving forward you have walk around decks on both sides leading to the bow providing access to the anchor windless and to the beautiful custom high low seating bench. Walking back along either side you will find sliding doors to port or starboard then continue aft to the cockpit.
Entrance into the main cabin is made thru a varnished dutch door with a window, down one step leads you into the vessel, there you will find the enclosed head to the port with a newer domestic head, new custom stainless sink and opening portlight, along the starboard side of the main cabin is the galley featuring a beautiful Dickinson “Pacific” stove with a new stainless steel countertop and backsplash that goes the full length of the galley, fwd of the stove is the custom stainless sink with a beautiful commercial spray faucet or pot filler. Across from the galley is a small L shaped settee that can be converted into a bunk. forward of the settee is the newer stainless steel Isotherm 12v refrigerator. To the port is the very cool classic oak pilot seat that provides great visibility thru the reverse pilothouse windows and access to the chart table. To the starboard is the helm station with a full array of electronics teak wheel and drop down helm chair for easy access out the starboard pilothouse door. Down two steps forward is the entrance to the V berth that has a drop-in section to create a double bunk, there is a set of drawers to the port and a hanging locker to the starboard, the cabin also has great ventilation thru two opening portlights and an opening hatch on the centerline, all the way forward is access to the chain locker.
