Off Center Harbor's Remarks
Ever since MALABAR II sailed into Center Harbor decades ago we have been in love with this striking John Alden design. Above all, Alden was a schooner man, and his run of Malabars kept schooners at the top of the class for ensuing generations. LEGACY was built in 1999 and appears to have been treated well by her original owners right through her Carol Hasse mainsail, her solid teak deck, and her shiny Yanmar auxiliary. These boats are as comfy to sail as the Buicks of the 1950s were to drive. Take the kids to sea in a Malabar and you might just turn them into life-long sailors.
