Built by Lake Washington Shipyard, designed by John Winslow, SEAFARER is 56′ long and went through a complete professional restoration in 2007. She has a Carvel planked Alaskan cedar hull, 2″ x 2″ oak frames on 9″ centers, teak weather decks, canvas covered tongue and groove cabin tops, cabin trunks with varnished plank sides, lovely teak transom. All the stanchions, cleats, and anchor winch are bronze.The extensive restoration included all new wiring and a new 8kw Northern Lights generator. Most recent upgrades include a new propeller shaft, cutless bearing and support bearing, (2010). The hull was re-fastened on the lowest three planks on each side of the keel and hydraulic steering was installed, (2011). The single main engine is a diesel GMC 6-V71 which easily pushes her along at 10kts while sipping 3-4 gal of fuel per hour.

Has a 470-gallon fuel capacity, making fuel dock stops far and few between.

Major refit in 2007, including plank repair, refinished exterior wood, refastening, recaulk, new wiring throughout including electrical panels, new plumbing, hydraulic steering, newer 8kW Northern Lights gen set, updated electronics, new appliances.

The SEAFARER has managed to modernize the on board accouterments and simultaneously maintain the incredible class and charm of the bygone era.

Most every detail has been attended to and the spectacular interior finishes are remarkable.

Exterior Description
Carvel planked one and one-quarter inch cedar, galvanized boat nail and screws fastened to bent oak frames which measure two inch by two inch and are on nine inch centers. Decks are teak plank on beam, and the cabin trunks have varnished plank sides with paint and canvas covered tongue and groove on beam cabin tops. Bulkheads and partitions are primarily plank and tongue groove plank. Most of the interior forward of the cockpit has tongue and groove cedar hull ceiling.

Has a raised foredeck with anchor windlass and a butterfly skylight hatch over the forward cabin. The raised wheelhouse follows and has a curved face, a visor over the windshield windows, and port and starboard doors. The lower main cabin trunk follow and has a deck storage box, another deck box containing an Engle chest freezer, two davits, chocks for a tender, and a mast for anchor light on the cabin top, and has alternating windows and round ports on each cabin side.

Side decks step down alongside the wheelhouse and lead around the cabin to the cockpit, which is sheltered by a fixed windscreen, a hard top and side curtains, and has U shaped seating arrangement.

Interior Description
The forepeak contains a chain locker with aft access. Next aft is a stateroom with a raised double forward, 3-rung step/ladder to berth, a port side counter/bureau followed by a hanging locker, and a starboard side head compartment and separate shower compartment. A vestibule follows and has an aft engine room door, a port side door to the generator area of the engine room with direct access to the generator, and starboard side curved staircase to the wheelhouse. The wheelhouse has a centerline helm station followed by a teak pedestal helm seat, a port side chart table area on the dashboard, flush mounted electronics, followed by port and starboard side doors with screens, 360 degree view, and an aft settee and pilot berth. The engine compartment is beneath the wheelhouse and the fuel tanks are outboard of the engine.

Going aft of the wheelhouse along port, a 6 step-ladder to the starboard side “L” shaped galley with electric cooktop, built in microwave / convection oven, dish stowage, (4) port side built in refrigerator/freezer compartments and a cabinet. The saloon follows and has port and starboard settees which convert to berths, followed by a port side shower compartment and a starboard side head compartment. Aft is a companionway to the cockpit.

The water tanks are beneath the cockpit sole and outboard of the cockpit seats.

The interior is finished in varnished wood, painted surfaces, granite galley counters and varnished plank soles.
