Off Center Harbor's Remarks

We’re very partial to Harry Bryan’s Handy Billy design and have proven its ability time and time again. They’ll speed along at around 14 knots even when it’s rough, and thanks to their V-bottom, never pound.

Description from Boat's Main Listing

This may be the perfect motorboat. Quiet, efficient, quick and able.

These boats are known for their gentle loping ride and great efficiency. The design can handle the steepest chops thanks to a fine entry and generous deadrise. Her high sheer makes her dry and she cruises in the mid-teens with only 30 Hp. This Handy Billy was built to furniture grade standards with book matched coamings. She is a superb example and will turn heads in any harbor. Highly Recommended.

Vessel Details
The hull of the handy billy is built using a process called batten seam construction. Batten seam construction provides excellent strength to weight ratios and minimal maintenance when compared to traditional carvel type planking. Because of this construction type the boat requires no soak time in the spring to swell the planks and has very low maintenance requirements.

The hull form has a very fine entry with amidships rocker and moderate deadrise aft. Her narrow beam and low wetted surface makes her efficient and easily driven. The owner often runs the boat from Annapolis to St Michaels averaging 15kts burning only 5 gallons round trip! Try that in an Eastbay 49. She was built by expert craftsmen using the finest materials and we have yet to see another that has been finished so finely.
