Email this Video to a FriendIn this edition of the fox series, we get much more from Bill than a simple video of rolling on some paint. Bill, per usual, offers up some tips and tricks that he has learned along his journey of boat building. In this video we cover prepping for finish, some options for paint, great techniques, and much more. While the painting the hull a bright orange may be a sin to some, we think it compliments our off center style, and get us excited to get out there and paddle. We’re almost done with this series and she is looking great!

Bill any feedback on the Marshalls Cove long term performance?
Bill Saunders says:
Bill, you mentioned that you have often used Kirby oil-based paints on your epoxy coated boats. I was told by a very experienced boat builder that such traditional oil-based paints were not compatible with use on epoxy-coated boats. I accepted that comment and agreed to use Pettit EZ-poxy paint. I don’t know if he just didn’t want to use Kirby paints because he was not familiar with them or if he just wanted to get paint easily available locally (he was on the west coast). In any case, I really like the Kirby paint colors and would like some day to paint an epoxy-coated boat that I plan to build with Kirby paint. Can you comment further on the use of Kirby oil-based paints on epoxy-coated boats? Thank you,
Bill S.

James, I would not fret to much about the mosquito, the loss of one is insignificant. We have lots more.
James Jones says:
Most excellent video! Too bad about the mosquito, though. :)
