My first Pygmy was an 20′ Osprey Tandem. Loved it, used it on the Hudson River, Maine coast, Nova Scotia, Chesapeake Bay, etc. Wanted a single so built a Pygmy Artic Tern 14′. Have been paddling it on the Hudson River, local lakes and now Florida for the last 6 years. Great boats.

Always admired John’s stuff, nice to hear his thinking on hydrodynamics. VERY similar to rowboat design! It is a constant battle between LWL and wetted surface area.
Steve Buck says:
An excellent discussion of hydrodynamics and kayak design.
