Excellent!

I thoroughly enjoy watching Peter Buxton explain the build of his Maine Lobster Boat.
The paint Peter has on the boats structural parts reminds me of red lead, I guess it is something else of a similar colour.
I would be interested to make a Half Hull Model of the Maine Lobster Boat to hang on my lounge room wall to go with the other 21 half hull models of other vessel types on display. Could you please let me know where I could obtain a Lines Plan?
Tony Jarvis says:
Peter. Your explanations are crystal clear to me. When you get tired of building you would make an exceptional teacher.
Kai Schrodt says:
Still got my eye on you. I see those deck camber patterns hanging on the wall behind you.
This is a great series. Keep up the good work.
Thanks.
Tom Keefe says:
Peter- A lot of thought, skill and experience behind all the careful details – do you keep all of this in your head, or do you have “planning/thinking ‘pencil sessions’ between phases, with maybe a peek at some books, articles, etc.? Did you, or someone, loft this design? As an architect used to detailing on paper so many details, I am always amazed at how sparse a lofted design appears. You clearly have a well-organized shop, and a great familiarity with materials, tools and process that makes it look easy on a video; looks like you have found the sweet spot of Maine boatbuilding! Thanks for sharing it with ll of us!
Peter Buxton says:
Hi! I did loft the boat myself and even tho I’ve built several of these types of boats before I still refer to my collection of books just to remind myself of how others have gone about things.
I also sit quietly just about every night and ponder what I’ve done and what I’m about to do tomorrow. No matter how many times you do something it’s always good question yourself and try to think of better ways.
Thanks, Peter

Hey Tom, to see Peter loft the boat, check out Part 2 of this series here:

Thanks – will do!

It’s great to see the stage to stage progress. Your detailed explanation of all the “what, why, and when” is great as the process details can save so much time and frustration. I have only built small boats ( < 20') to date, but at 68 I feel it's time to build "that" boat I want to watch the sunset on.
Peter Buxton says:
I hope you get to do it and go cruising!
Charles Laforge says:
