excellent video. You could see what Peter was talking about with the shear being a little high towards the bow and a little too low towards the stern. Taking this care even with a commercial boat is the sign of a craftsman. Thank you for the video.

Enjoying this series. Peter, there seem to be plenty of knots in the planking. Will this be a concern when the planks swell/contract? Curious how you’ll seal those well enough so as not to pop later.

Ed, northern white cedar is the knottiest wood you’ll ever work with but as long as they’re tight brown knots without bark they will be perfectly fine and even add a little strength.
