Loving the process of the build. Just out of curiosity what are you using in the joins on the deadwood and stem? Just red lead paint?
Mike Justice says:
Wish I lived there, I’d work for free to learn lofting and wooden boat building.
Robert Hauser says:
Very nice video with great commentary. I feel like I’m in the shop learning how to do it!

Thanks for this. Early in the process and already a favorite.

A pleasure to watch you at work, Peter. Inspiring!
Crayke Windsor says:
Great explanation on the rabbet. A complicated bit of joinery for sure.
Walter Allan says:
When you see this work you should say to yourself, “I just got a bargain!” no matter what you agreed to pay. There are no shortcuts (pun?) This detail is magnificent. Thanks Peter.
Bill Theurkauf says:
Great series! Peter does a wonderful job describing complicated joinery in a straightforward, no nonsense way. My guess is that the source for the white oak is Duke Besozzi at New England Navel Timbers. Duke is great, his stock is spectacular and he’s happy to accommodate small order. His yard is also in a beautify part of Connecticut. Highly recommend!
Peter Buxton says:
Correct on all counts!
Jonathan Lewis says:
It’s therapy watching Peter work. I’d be in therapy if I had to do it.
